We're thrilled to announce the new addition of support for DNS backups from GoDaddy, one of the world's largest web hosting and domain registrar companies.
This new feature allows you to manage your daily GoDaddy DNS backups right alongside your other DNS records. You'll receive alerts when changes are made, have the option to review these modifications, and conveniently download all your zone files collectively.
Supported DNS record types
GoDaddy supports a wide range of standard DNS records, including A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, SSHFP, TXT, HTTPS, NS and CAA—all of which are now supported by Domain Backup.
However, it's important to note that GoDaddy does not support the unofficial yet useful ALIAS or ANAME records (also called CNAME flattening), which allow you to direct a root domain to another hostname.
Adding a GoDaddy account to Domain Backup
Adding one or multiple GoDaddy accounts to Domain Backup is a straightforward process. All you need to do go to the developer portal and follow the instructions to create a API key. Once this is done, you'll be all set to manage your GoDaddy DNS backups with ease.
